Nittobo is a pioneer in glass fiber manufacture. In 1938, the company manufactured glass fiber on a commercial basis earlier than anyone else in the world, and since then, it has continued to manufacture products in various fields by optimizing the properties of glass fiber.
Light Shade is what Nittobo calls a "next-generation product" that uses glass fiber as raw material. It consists of ultra-thin, half-transparent glass cloth that moderately transmits light.
* Light Shade is a nonflammable composite material that combines glass cloth mentioned above and fluororesin (nonflammability certification number: NM-0152).
Glass fiber yarn used as raw material
Light Shade does not stain easily, and the secret lies in its structure.
First, glass cloth is produced by weaving thin glass fibers. Then, the glass cloth is impregnated with fluororesin. Furthermore, the surface of fluororesin-impregnated glass cloth is laminated with flat and smooth fluororesin film.
The double effects of fluororesin make it difficult for Light Shade to become yellowish and stain. They also make it easy to wipe off stain on Light Shade.
The benefit of fluororesin is that it does not stain easily.
Light Shade allows users to choose from between the two types of glass cloth according to their interior design and lighting plan.
