Heat resistance and heat insulation markets

For LNG and LPG tanks

Nittobo's glass fiber is used for materials to reinforce LNG and LPG tanks because of its dimensional stability, which is not affected by temperature changes, as well as its non-water-absorbing, non-hygroscopic, and other properties.

Urethane resin is often used for heat-insulating materials to maintain low temperatures in LNG and LPG tanks, cooling warehouses, and transport equipment for such tanks and warehouses. One weakness of urethan resin is, however, that it easily develops cracks due to temperature changes.
Glass cloth excels in dimensional stability, which is not affected by temperature changes, high strength, non-water-absorbency and non-hygroscopicity when dew is formed, as well as tensile strength, heat resistance, and fire resistance. The occurrence of cracks can be prevented by bonding such cloth as a reinforcement material and urethane resin together.
